What is Don't Fret?
Don't Fret is a musical psychological horror action-adventure developed by Scary Kid Studios and co-published by Digital Pajamas and Behaviour Interactive. You play as Fret — a sentient guitar — trapped in Harmonic Heights, a music school that has been completely overrun by monsters. The game leans hard into its musical framing, building puzzles and mechanics around instruments and sound rather than using the setting as decoration.
Behaviour Interactive came on board as co-publisher in June 2026, announced just weeks before the release date was confirmed.
Story
Fret wakes up in Harmonic Heights with no clear memory of how they got there or what happened to the school. The place is crawling with musical monsters — creatures that seem tied to the corrupted music filling the halls. Fret has to uncover the secrets of Harmonic Heights while surviving long enough to find a way out. The psychological horror angle suggests the story goes to some unsettling places as it unfolds.
Gameplay
Don't Fret mixes instrument-themed puzzle solving with evasion mechanics. You're not just fighting monsters — you're figuring out how to navigate a hostile environment where music is both a threat and a tool.
