What is Final Fantasy Resonance?
Final Fantasy Resonance is a standalone console RPG built on the story of Final Fantasy Brave Exvius, the long-running mobile title. Square Enix co-developed it with LANCARSE Ltd. — a studio with a strong turn-based pedigree from their work on Bandai Namco dungeon-crawlers — which makes the collaborative lineup well-suited for the game's classic RPG structure. No knowledge of the mobile game is required to follow the story; this is designed as a fresh entry point.
Gameplay
The visual style is HD-2D: pixel-art character sprites rendered over modern 3D environments with real-time lighting, depth-of-field, and atmospheric effects. It's the same aesthetic that defined Octopath Traveler and Triangle Strategy, and it fits comfortably in the classic Final Fantasy lineage.
Combat is turn-based, keeping things firmly in traditional JRPG territory rather than the action-oriented direction of Final Fantasy XVI or VII Rebirth.
