What is Star Fox (2026 Remake)?
This isn't a port or a remaster — Nintendo is rebuilding Star Fox 64 from the ground up for Switch 2. Fox McCloud and his squadron are back to defend the Lylat System from Andross, but everything around that premise has been rebuilt: character models, stage design, cutscenes, voice acting, and music.
Nintendo announced the game on May 6, 2026 during a dedicated Star Fox Direct. A third-party developer hasn't been publicly named; Nintendo is credited as publisher.
Gameplay
The core Star Fox formula carries over — you pilot an Arwing through stages, take down waves of enemies, and navigate branching mission paths across the Lylat System. The remake brings that structure forward with redesigned stages that offer fresh takes on the original layouts rather than one-to-one recreations.
