Fortnite Brings Back OG Season 9 and Drops Ten New Skins in One Update

Fortnite's 41.10 update landed June 25, 2026, and it is one of the most loaded patches in Chapter 7 Season 3. OG Season 9 is back, the Gone Wild summer event is live, and over ten new skins dropped at once.

OG Chapter 1 Season 9 picks up where OG Season 8 left off, dragging the map into its futuristic era. Neo Tilted is back with its neon towers and hoverboards. Mega Mall has returned. Slipstreams crisscross the island again, letting you launch across the map without building. The OG loot pool gets a fresh shake-up too: the Drum Shotgun and Tactical Assault Rifle are in, and the OG Infinity Blade stays after the Unvaulting event freed it. The OG Pass brings three remixed returning skins: Devourer Remix, Rox Remix, and Demi Remix.

Five new Sprites hit the loot pool alongside a brand-new item called Shock Rocks. Grab a Shock Rock and you get three extra mid-air jumps, each one higher than the last, with enough force to break nearby builds. It also restores 25 HP on use. Each Sprite has its own power: Boss Sprite raises your max Health and Shield, Grim Reaper Sprite marks enemies who shoot at you on the map, and Stalker Sprite gives an Overdrive buff every time you mantle or hurdle. A Soccer Pitch POI also landed on the map as part of a World Cup tie-in, and scoring a goal there has a chance to reward the Stalker Sprite.

The skin roster for this patch is massive. Olivia Rodrigo joins with cosmetics tied to her latest album and a set of Jam Tracks in the Item Shop. Supergirl arrives as actor Milly Alcock's version from the DC series, with her dog Krypto as a companion. Mongraal, the pro player turned Fortnite icon, gets his own skin. Dave the Diver lands as a free reward for players who own that game. Resident Evil skins also got an update. The Simpsons Reload map is in the mix for the Reload mode, which also received a fresh loot pool alongside Blitz mode changes.

OG Season 9 is the last truly beloved chapter of the original run. It was the era when Fortnite leaned hard into sci-fi and pulled off some of its most creative limited-time events. Bringing it back after seven years hits players with nostalgia, and newcomers get to experience it with no FOMO. That alone would be enough to spike search traffic. But this patch layered on a summer event, a mainstream music collab, a DC collab, a viral indie game collab, and a pro player skin in the same download. Every one of those fandoms is talking about Fortnite at the same time. The Gone Wild event runs until July 9, so players have two weeks of quests and limited-time rewards to chase. The competitive Power Rankings system also launched June 5, giving ranked players a new goal. Daily active player counts are sitting around 2 million. Monthly actives are in the 110 to 120 million range. The all-time concurrent record is 14.3 million players, set during the Remix live event. This patch is not chasing that record, but it is giving everyone a reason to log back in this week.
