Pokemon GO's First Frigibax Community Day Hands Out Glaive Rush Baxcalibur and 3x Stardust

Pokemon GO held its first Frigibax Community Day on Saturday, June 20, 2026, from 2 to 5 p.m. local time. Evolve Frigibax up to Baxcalibur during the event and it learns the exclusive Charged Move Glaive Rush.

Pokemon GO is Niantic's free augmented-reality game where you walk around the real world to catch Pokemon on your phone. Community Day is its monthly headline event: one Pokemon floods the map for three hours, shiny odds jump, and the final evolution gets a move you cannot get any other time.

This one mattered more than most. Frigibax is a rare Dragon and Ice Pokemon, and it had been painful to find before this. The base event is free for everyone. Bonuses during the window included 3x Stardust and 2x Candy for every catch, doubled XL Candy chance for trainers level 31 and up, three-hour Incense, and one-hour Lure Modules. There was also an optional paid Special Research ticket, which is the only part that cost money.

The big draw was Glaive Rush. If you evolved Arctibax into Baxcalibur between 2 and 9 p.m. local, your Baxcalibur learned it for free. Miss the window and you have to use an Elite Charged TM or wait for a December weekend event.

Is Baxcalibur worth building? Yes, but be smart about it. For raids, Baxcalibur is already a strong Ice attacker with Ice Fang and Avalanche, and a solid Dragon attacker with Ice Fang and Glaive Rush. The real reason to keep one or two high-IV Baxcalibur is its unreleased Mega form. Per pokemongohub.net analysis, Mega Baxcalibur is projected to out-damage even Mega Rayquaza as a Dragon attacker once it arrives. Hold a couple of good ones with Glaive Rush now and you are set up for that later. For PvP, it is a niche Master League pick at best, so do not grind it for the arena.

Shiny odds on Community Day sit around 1 in 24, so most players who stayed out for the full three hours pulled several. On the r/TheSilphRoad feedback thread, one trainer reported 12 shiny Frigibax in a single day. Twitter and Reddit also filled up with hundo (perfect IV) and even Shundo (perfect shiny) brags, which is the usual Community Day flex but louder this time because Frigibax was so hard to get before.

Why it's blowing up right now

Two things stacked up. This was the first Dragon and Ice Community Day in 100-plus events, so a genuinely rare Pokemon suddenly became farmable for one afternoon. And Glaive Rush plus that looming Mega form gives Baxcalibur real long-term value, which is why "is it worth building" searches spiked all weekend. The event is over now, but the move is not lost: a December Community Day weekend is expected to bring Glaive Rush back, so if you slept on Saturday, that is your next shot. For now, bank a high-IV Baxcalibur or two with Glaive Rush and wait for the Mega.
