Invincible VS is a 3v3 tag fighting game based on the Invincible comics and the Amazon Prime Video show. You pick a team of three superheroes, then tag between them mid combo to keep the pressure on. It is fast, bloody, and built around chaining your three fighters together. Publisher Skybound Games and its in house studio Quarter Up made it, and the studio is staffed with veterans from the Killer Instinct team. It launched April 30, 2026.
Search interest is climbing again right now for a clear reason. On June 18, 2026, Skybound and Quarter Up released the gameplay trailer for Universa, the game's first DLC fighter. She is an alien warrior who came to Earth to siphon energy for her dying planet. In the fight she wields a Staff of Leadership and can siphon Boost from opponents, which sets her apart from the launch cast. Universa launches June 30, 2026 as part of the Season 1 update. Evo 2026 attendees can try her hands on at the Invincible VS booth in Las Vegas from June 26 to 28.
Here is what you get if you buy now. The game shipped with an 18 character launch roster and four modes. The cast pulls from across the series: Mark (Invincible), Atom Eve, Omni Man, Battle Beast, Conquest, and more. Conquest was the final fighter added at launch, revealed at the Evo Awards. The combat leans on a two way interactable combo system, so both players can react inside a combo instead of just sitting there. It supports cross play across PC, PS5, and Xbox.
On price, there are three editions. The Standard Edition is $49.99. The Digital Deluxe Edition is $69.99 and includes the Year 1 Character Pass, which covers all four planned DLC fighters plus deluxe cosmetics. There is also a PS5 only physical Collector's Edition at $99.99 with a steelbook, art cards, a mini comic, and more. Universa is included in that Year 1 Pass, or you can buy her on her own. You can also test her in Training Mode before you pay.
Is it any good? Reviews landed in solid but mixed territory. Metacritic shows 76 on PS5, 72 on PC, and 80 on Xbox Series X/S, with a user score around 7.5. OpenCritic puts the top critic average near 77 with most critics recommending it. IGN gave it a 7 out of 10 and called it "a very respectable 3v3 tag fighter that plays unlike any other out there." On Steam it sits at "Mostly Positive." The common read is that the fighting is genuinely fun and easy to pick up, the character interactions delight fans of the show, and the depth is there for people who dig in.
The community angle is mostly about the roster and the source material. Fans love seeing deep cut characters get the spotlight, and the Universa reveal got a strong reaction on the Invincible and InvincibleVS subreddits. People who came in as comic or show fans tend to stick around for the fan service. The main gripe you will see is over edition pricing, with some players feeling the Deluxe is steep for what it adds.
Is it worth playing? If you like fighting games and the Invincible series, yes. It is accessible enough for newcomers and has the technical depth that tag fighter veterans want. If you do not care about the comic at all, it is still a competent 3v3 fighter, just one where a chunk of the appeal is the characters. With Season 1 and Universa arriving June 30, this is a reasonable moment to jump in or come back.
