Two Point Museum launched March 4, 2025 on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S, and it is the best-reviewed game Two Point Studios has ever made.
You play as curator of a growing museum empire. Send expeditions out to discover artifacts, design your galleries, keep guests happy and staff paid, and juggle the constant chaos of running a public attraction. The formula will feel familiar if you played Two Point Hospital or Two Point Campus, but the team solved the biggest problem those games had. In Hospital and Campus, you could essentially "finish" a level and move on. Museum makes you go back. New themes unlock upgrades you can apply to old museums, which improves their star ratings and feeds you more currency and unlocks. Nothing stays solved. There is always something worth going back to fix or expand.
Expeditions add another layer. You send your team out, they return with finds, and the curveballs keep coming the further in you get. The loop has a pull that neither predecessor matched.
Critics noticed. The game landed an 83 on Metacritic and an 85 on OpenCritic, with 91% of critics recommending it. Steam reviews sit at Overwhelmingly Positive with 95% positive ratings. GamesRadar called it "the best management sim from Two Point Studios to date." Two Point Studios, based in Farnham, Surrey, is a SEGA-published studio, and the BAFTA Games Awards 2026 nominated Two Point Museum in both the British Game and Family categories, giving the studio what they called a "massive honour."
The community angle that fans keep coming back to is straightforward: this game respects your time without getting easy. Veteran sim players point out that Hospital could feel solved after one strong playthrough. Museum makes that impossible. Players on the subreddit and Steam forums describe sinking 60-plus hours before hitting a wall, and many say they went back to earlier maps when new content dropped just to see what extra wrinkle the latest update added. That loop, not any single feature, is what fans love most.
The base game costs $29.99 on all platforms. An Explorer Edition at $39.99 bundles the base game with the Explorer Upgrade Pack. Two DLC packs are out: Zooseum (a wildlife-themed expansion) and Arty-Facts, which launched May 7, 2026 and added an art museum type with a Commissions feature that lets your Art Experts create unique pieces. A free taster of Arty-Facts was added to the base game via Update 9.0 before launch. Two Point Museum is not on Xbox Game Pass. The studio confirmed there are no plans for that. PlayStation Plus Premium subscribers get a two-hour full-game trial, but the full game requires purchase.
If you bounced off Two Point Campus because levels felt like they played themselves once you figured them out, Two Point Museum is the fix. It is the right entry point for new players too, since the museum theme is more immediately legible than a hospital or university, and the comedy lands consistently throughout. The all-time peak concurrent Steam player count was 19,439 on March 9, 2025, five days after launch. Two years in, the game is still pulling thousands of daily players thanks to a steady update and DLC cadence.
For new players: buy the base game at $29.99 and see if the expedition loop clicks. The Explorer Edition is fine value if you are already sold on the franchise.
