Wreckfest 2 Update 7 Adds Suicide Racing and Reworked Physics

Wreckfest 2 just got Content Update #7 on May 19, 2026, and it is the biggest Early Access patch Bugbear has shipped yet.

Wreckfest is a demolition-derby racer from Finnish studio Bugbear Entertainment. You drive beat-up muscle cars and lawnmowers around dirt ovals and figure-eight tracks, and the whole point is that everyone is trying to smash everyone. The 2018 original has an 81 on Metacritic and still runs well on PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox, and Switch. Wreckfest 2 entered Steam Early Access on March 20, 2025, PC-only for now, with a full 1.0 launch planned for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S later.

Update #7 is the reason people are searching the game right now. Here is what it actually adds:

• Three new vehicles: a half-car called the Crusader (the driver is a ragdoll, flopping around with every hit), plus two European cars, the Stahlwagen and the Valken.
• A new US venue called "More Raceway," with a full tarmac circuit, a contact-racing sprint track, and a high-speed oval.
• Seven new Challenge events.
• A proper tuning system: you can now set brakes, suspension, gearing, steering, and differential, save presets, and load them in multiplayer lobbies.
• Reworked damage and collision physics, better tire simulation, new impact and spin scoring.
• Suicide Racing mode, where everyone runs the oval in opposite directions.

The community reaction on Steam and Reddit has been positive, especially on performance. Players who had been critical of earlier Early Access builds are calling Update #7 "much more stable." The tuning system is what hardcore fans have been asking for since launch. And Suicide Racing is, predictably, generating a lot of clips.
